ExRotaprint is the former site of the Rotaprint printing press manufacturing plant, now used by a heterogeneous mix of local businesses, community outreach organizations, and independent creatives, and taken off the property market through a complex legal and organizational structure.

FLickeN is a network of people who upcycle and repair bikes together with mostly young people, sharing repair skills and selling bikes in order to increase bike use in the city.

Haus der Statistik/ ZKB

Haus der Statistik is a 50.000 m2 building complex which is currently being developed into cultural and community spaces, housing as well as administrative offices, representing a model collaboration between civil society and communal actors, and during the renovation already opened up for ‘pioneer use’.

Kotti & Co is a tenants’ initiative, which gathers among others in a temporary structure in public space, protesting against high rents in social housing and working for tenants’ rights in Berlin.

Mietshäusersyndikat is an umbrella organization for collective, non-profit housing projects in Germany, providing legal advice and solidarity funding, while always remaining a shareholder in every house project.
M29 is a house project in Prenzlauer Berg, started by a group of individuals and developed in the framework of the Mietshäusersyndikat.

nGbK/station urbaner kulturen

station urbaner kulturen is the “Neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK)” art association’s satellite space on the large Hellersdorf housing estate on the outskirts of eastern Berlin. It is an exhibition space and workplace for artists and local residents.
