At the first round of African Crossroads in Marrakesh (December 10-13, 2018), under the theme of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Omar Nagati and René Boer presented the outcome of the first two phases of research of Grounded Urban Practices, featuring the in-depth analysis of both Cairo and Amsterdam/Rotterdam. During the session, GUPs from across the continent reflected on the work. These conversations formed the basis of a new collaboration, which eventually led to the Tunis Dialogues a year later.
